There was no music behind
calm and soothing ones,
nor the inspiring beats,
like in a three minute video.
There was no pat on the back
when everything went good
nor a hug
for the hard times.
There were a million silent cries,
that went unheard
A million fear,
that went unseen
A million struggles against your ego and might,
that went unnoticed,
A million times you fell
and looked at me and got up
knowing there needs to be strength.
I do not understand now
Maybe someday I will…
But please be there then
Among those millions faces;
a face, smiling and proud
as you always did…
For I did not see you, Mom
But I do now…
